Advice from Canada - How to keep drywall from cracking

Found on a forum -- Re: How does drywall perform in a seasonal use cottage??

I would consider using 5/8" drywall on everything, glued to the framing and screwed with 1 1/2" corse tread drywall screws. I would also strap all ceilings with 7/8" metal hi-hat and use glue there as well. When taping use paper tape enbedded with setting compound and finished with 2 coats of all purpose joint coumpound. Use mud on type corners like No-Coat. Heat the building with non-propane (cause humidity) heaters if temp is below 60 degrees during taping process. Make sure humidity is below 50% is possiable. This should give you a good shot at minimizing cracks down the road.
