Passive House guidance: if doors are exposed to prevailing winds, the doors should have three point door latches or be part of an air-lock entryway with double entry doors.
We are opting for the air-lock approach. There are no doors in our conditioned space that will connect directly with the outside. There is one exterior door entering into the garage. From the garage, another door will lead into the house. On the lake side, there is a door that goes out to the sun porch. The sun porch will have two sliding doors to the outside.
We prefer fiberglass doors (just like the windows) for insulation, low maintenance, and expansion/contraction.
